Danone Dumex (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd first came to Malaysian shores in 1958 and since then, we began our sacred task of nourishing the nation. We are a specialist in child nutrition, and a manufacturer and marketer of a range of innovative and superior science-based and proven child nutrition products. Over the years, we have grown from strength to strength as we cemented our position as the expert in child and toddler nutrition and won the trust of generations of Malaysian parents with our list of innovations and firsts.
In our many years in business, one thing remains unchanged – our priority to provide children with the right nutrients during their growing-up years and the well-being of pregnant/lactating mothers. Needless to say, we take this role seriously and will spare no effort to ensure we consistently deliver high quality and reliable products which meet the needs of parents and their children.
The production hub for all our products, our stateof-the-art facility in Nilai caters to the demands of a growing domestic market as well as exports to other countries in Southeast Asia. Since 1998, Danone Dumex has invested close to RM200 million to make the Nilai facility one of the most modern milk powder factories in the region. The plant has the capacity to produce up to 30,000 tonnes of milk powder a year.
In 2008, Danone Dumex officially became a subsidiary of Groupe Danone, a Fortune 500 company and one of the most successful healthy food companies in the world. Groupe Danone is a major business with a worldwide presence, focused on bringing health through food to as many people as possible. This is reflected in the four key areas of business: Fresh Dairy Products, Waters, Baby Nutrition and Medical Nutrition.

NUTRITION FOR HEALTHIER MALAYSIAN CHILDREN
Children are the foundation of a healthy Malaysia, allowing us to grow and transform aspirations into realities. As an organisation with a long-standing heritage in Malaysia, we believe we have a responsibility in shaping the nutritional habits of Malaysian children. This is in line with our vision to spearhead nutrition for healthier Malaysian children.
In line with our vision, we strive to offer a range of products that are nutritious and healthy for children and pregnant/lactating mothers. For example, all our products since 2011 contain less or no sucrose as well as an increase in dietary fibre, monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fatty acids to promote a healthier diet. We have also introduced the first-of-its-kind Eat-Well Plate, an easy to use plate that educates the right portion size of different food types for a given main meal. The recommended portion sizes are based on the Malaysian food guidelines.
Most recently, we collaborated with Universiti Putra Malaysia and International Medical University to complete the first large scale dietary survey of Malaysian children. This survey is called NutriPlanet, and it looked into the dietary intake of Malaysian children, aged 1 to 10 years old.
Within Danone Dumex Malaysia, we encourage our employees to practise healthy eating habits and live active and healthy lifestyles. For example, we declare every Tuesday and Thursday as Fruit Day, where we provide free fruits to our employees, accompanied by nutrition facts on the selected fruit. We also provide free exercise and yoga classes in our Kuala Lumpur office and Nilai facility as well as organise monthly nutritional and health talks.
Our values are based on H.O.P.E. This is shared with all our stakeholders – not only our shareholders, but also employees, partners, public authorities and local communities.
